Beyond Istanbul
Beyond Istanbul, Without Losing a Day to Travel
Cappadocia's balloons, Sapanca's lake air, the Princes' Islands with no cars — all real reasons to leave the city for a day or two. The mistake is doing it with a forty-person bus tour that spends more time at gift shops than at the thing you came for.
Why it's hard to choose
Cappadocia especially: hundreds of balloon operators and tour packages, wildly different in safety standards and group size, and almost impossible to tell apart from a booking page.
What we arrange
- A short domestic flight and balloon slot in Cappadocia, with an operator we actually vet for safety record
- A day on the Princes' Islands — bike or phaeton, no cars, lunch by the water
- A day at Sapanca, an hour and a half from the city, lake and pine forest instead of traffic
- Logistics handled end to end — flights, transfers, timing — so a 'day trip' doesn't eat your whole day in transit
Two ways to do this
Cappadocia, balloon & cave hotel
Overnight, sunrise balloon flight, an afternoon in the valleys.
Princes' Islands, day trip
Ferry out in the morning, bikes or a horse-drawn phaeton, back before dinner.
Know before you go
- — Cappadocia balloon flights are weather-dependent and sometimes cancel morning-of — we build in a buffer day where possible
- — The Princes' Islands are a half-day trip on their own; don't combine with anything else that day
- — Domestic flights to Cappadocia are short (about 1h15) but require an early airport departure
