Bosphorus & Water

The Bosphorus, Away From the Ferry Crowd

Every hotel desk in Sultanahmet sells the same two-hour public ferry. It's fine. It's also the same photo everyone else takes. We arrange the version with a captain who knows which cove holds still water at sunrise, or a fisherman who'll cook what he caught an hour ago, twenty minutes off Anadolu Kavağı.

Why it's hard to choose

Search 'Bosphorus boat tour' and you'll get four hundred identical pontoons promising the same skyline photo. The real difference — a licensed captain versus someone's cousin with a boat, a private charter versus a shared tour badged as private — isn't visible in a listing photo.

What we arrange

  • A licensed private boat, sized to your group
  • A fisherman's breakfast on the water, arranged the morning of
  • A route built around light, not just landmarks
  • Life jackets, weather contingency, and a captain who speaks English

Two ways to do this

Private charter, half-day

A closed boat, a route we build around your interests, back by early afternoon.

Fisherman's breakfast

A smaller boat, one fisherman, whatever he caught that morning, grilled on board.

Know before you go

  • — Best in the two hours after sunrise, before the wind picks up
  • — Bring a layer — it's colder on the water than on the quay
  • — We can extend into Anadolu Kavağı for lunch if you want the full morning
